Each car has a rechargeable pack and a USB cable, both in the box. Drop the AA batteries into the controllers while the cars fill up.
Clear a bit of floor
Hard floor or short carpet, with enough room to build up speed. Sofa cushions make good walls.
Line up and charge
Drive straight at each other. A clean hit sends the driver off his seat — pop him back on and go again.
